The Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) offers students a safe place to talk about any problems they may be having. The SAC provides education, prevention, intervention, referral and support using resources both within the school environment and the community.  The SAC communicates with guardians if the student needs outside resources. The Student Assistance Coordinator aims to help students develop healthy coping skills, make positive lifestyle choices, and avoid substance abuse problems.

A student can see the SAC if they are struggling with family issues, school issues, drugs and alcohol, depression, relationship issues, stress or anxiety, bullying, eating disorders, and any other pressing issues that are impacting their learning.

A student can refer themselves by going into the Guidance office and filling out a slip. A student can also refer a friend if they are concerned by filling out a slip as well. A teacher, principal, assistant principal, or school counselor can refer a student. Conversations and referrals are kept confidential.
