Use these online resources for your Civil War Project. If you are working from home and need the usernames and passwords, they are listed on the "Database" tab. Please contact Mrs. Zera if something isn't working correctly.
Databases:
Spans more than 500 years of political, military, social, and cultural history to cover the American experience. Simply enter your topic in the search box.
Gale Virtual Reference Library (eBooks)
eBooks are a great alternative to regular books because everyone can use the eBooks at the same time (instead of just one user per book)! Plus, you can search the eBook just like a search engine instead of weeding through a long index. Click on a 'History' on the right hand side to see which books we have on the Civil War or you can use the main search box.
Enter your topic in the main search box at the top of the page. Results can be sorted by Lexile (reading level).
If you are researching a specific person in relation to the Civil War, Biography in Context is a great resource for biographical information about historical figures.
Civil War Times Magazine (on EBSCO)
We have a lot of back issues of Civil War Times that might be helpful in your research. Instead of flipping through each issue one by one, try using the EBSCO database to see if Civil War Times has any articles that you might want to use.
